Resources to Help you in your Devotional Life

  • Readings. Find and print out lectionary readings for each Sunday of the church year:
    • At www.io.com: The readings can be printed out in HTML.  You increase the text size by selecting "Text Size" from the "View" menu in your browser.  This site also has readings for each saint day.
    • At bookofcommonprayer.net: The readings can be printed out in Adobe PDF and the colors for each Sunday are noted with the readings (the color of the banded header is the color for that Sunday).
    • At jrsbible.info: Someone has taken the time to put links to all of the chapters of the Bible on one page. This is a quick way to get to a passage.

  • Lectionary Resources. Find numerous resources that correspond to the lectionary readings for each Sunday of the year, including commentaries, sermons, hymns, reflections, images, and movies at textweek.com.  Once you go to the site, use the index on the left to navigate to the right Sunday.

  • Music Resources.  The following resources are very helpful in planning Sunday worship:

  • Saints.  Find the 'Saint of the Day' and be inspired by their lives.  This resource, from Wikipedia, lists Saints according to the Church of England, which is a similar list to the Roman Catholic Church.

  • Colors and Seasons of the Year.  Find the colors and seasons of every Sunday of the church year from crivoice.org.  Rich descriptions of each season are given.  Primary and alternate colors are shown, as well as descriptions of how to display the colors.

  • Biblical Art:  Find classical and modern art that correspond to passages and themes in scripture at biblical-art.com. You can search by passage, key word, subject, and artist.

  • Other Anglican Resources.  The following resources are various items of Anglican interest:
